Personal Therapy

"Who looks outside, dreams;

Who looks inside, awakes."

                                                - Carl Jung

All of us, at some points in our lives, may experience feeling overwhelmed. Wherever our troubles orginate, they may leave us feeling stuck and frustrated, trapped in a cycle of unhelpful thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

Many people go through periods of trying to keep these difficult feelings and experiences to themselves, or trying to cope with convenient 'quick-fixes' only to realise they provide only temporary relief. If this sounds like your journey so far, you are not alone.

The mind may try to forget, but the body remembers, and buried emotional wounds eventually rise to the surface, ripe for healing and transformation.

As a therapist, I have had the privilege of journeying with people from diverse backgrounds experiencing pain and suffering that arise from grief and loss, from trauma and from childhood wounds. This pain can surface in many different forms - physical pains, depression, anxiety, a dis-order, an anger 'management' problem, relationship difficulties, obssessions and compulsions, an addiction...

In my work with the people who seek this journey, I aim to address not only these surface symptoms, but also the deeper origins of the pain. I am educated and inspired by philosophies that honour the biological, psychological, social and spiritual aspects of each person's unique life story, and apply these philosophies mindfully with a healthy dose of self-reflection, humility and constant curiosity.

The idea of seeking therapy can be daunting for many people. Beyond any particular therapeutic modality, I prioritise building a trustworthy relationship and holding a non-judgmental, nurturing space in which people feel safe to explore and make meaning of their life experiences.

If you are keen to take a step toward personal growth but unsure of whether this is a suitable process for you, get in touch and we can arrange for a 15-minute phone consultation free of charge.
